Art is both my vocation and my sanctuary. I am intrigued by the idea that one can make something from almost nothing, that from elements as simple as ground pigments one can conjur something new and possibly even beautiful. Working in a wide array of mediums, I enjoy exploring both the abstract and representational. I love it all. What I find so wonderful about working from life is that it forces me to look more closely at the world around me and to find the beauty and nuance within it. For me, then, the act of painting is an expression of my appreciation, gratitude and joy.

A resident of San Clemente, California, Cari Guerin is a fine art painter, printmaker and photographer. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Scripps College, Claremont, California, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and has been collected by private collectors and fine hotels around the world.
